Snaps

Snaps

We’re wired to notice the sensational — words and images that shout. It’s difficult to say if these "hits” make us feel uncomfortable or turned on, but we're spellbound regardless.

The background squares symbolize the “snapshots” we encounter daily -- like the little squares on our Instagram feed, or the words that stand out from the headlines. The spilled glass illustrates the fragmented nature of these inputs and the unique, colorful narratives we create.

What a beautiful mess.

Should Not

Should Not

I spent years in marketing and appreciate the art of attention-grabbing headlines that convey urgency of action.

Yet, when seeing 100s of expertly-written headlines in my own inbox, I feel my heart bleed. This piece encourages me to stay balanced: to continue learning, but listen to what I know to be true and right for me.

Signals

Signals

Energy doesn’t communicate in a spoken language, but it speaks clearly. Our signals to each other can be complimentary or opposing, often creating bizarre and surprising combinations.

In this piece I'm using hand gestures to give a visual representation to the "invisible" signals. To remember that our intent has the power to hinder and harm, or to help and heal.

Taste

Taste

The sheer quantity of receptor cells in lips and tongue make them the most sensitive parts of the body. I wanted to use this known fact in a visual piece to celebrate mindfulness. When we quiet the mind and tune into our senses, we know the beautify of the present moment.

Icon Reconstructed

Icon Reconstructed

This piece is a lighthearted tribute to Banksy and the surprise shredding of his “Girl With a Balloon” print during an auction — the event that made global art news and lifted an iconic image to a new stratosphere through a protest prank.

Gossip

Gossip

This piece was Inspired by a scene in the play “Doubt: A Parable” by John Patrick Shanley.

When you cut into a pillow and let the feathers fly, could you gather up every last one? It can’t be done. This is gossip.

I feel that passing by this image every day helps me be more mindful of what I spread into the world.

Positivity abounds.

Poster Wall Example

An example of creating a contemporary gallery wall with multiple prints.

Shown here at 24” x 30” print size without mats in 24” x 30” white frames.

This work is wonderful in 16” x 20” print size, matted and framed to a 24” x 30” final size.

In Deep Waters

In Deep Waters

This work acknowledges the changes in global ecosystems, and how connected everything truly is.

I combined images from Iceland and Costa Rica, indicating the increasingly blurred lines between physical and digital experiences of our lives. While photographing the collage, I broke an heirloom crystal class. It instantly became a part of the image, signifying the heirloom nature of environmental beauty and natural resources. In my culture, breaking a glass also means "good luck" or a positive breakthrough. It reminds me of staying mindful in my own choices of consumption.

Cake

Cake

A generic grocery store cake offers a variation on the proverb “You can't have your cake and eat it too.” In this case, you can’t have your cake and burn it too.

Combined with the haiku text, it points to the vast use of propaganda to advance manipulative agendas, and their eventual demise.

Full Of It

Full Of It

The word “IT” repeated in a fine wine decanter and the accompanying words point to the prevailing cultural norm to search for the IT-factor — the next best thing, a shortcut, or a magic bullet to reach joy, prosperity and peace.

Although we know well that achieving true peace and joy comes from looking within one self.

Daily ritual: listen to your gut.

One Love

One Love

Repeating a sensual image with slight text variations highlights the beauty of universal love. It also honors the increasing gender fluidity in our global culture.

This concept is also available in four individual pieces that can be displayed together.

Rebel Heart

Rebel Heart

This print celebrates the women’s movement, it’s core quest for gender equality, and the significance of each individual voice in reaching that goal.

Shadow Aspect

Shadow Aspect

Seeking to know and accept our shadow — the quirky parts of ourselves that are instinctive and often irrational — is a brave and rewarding journey. One that moves us toward deeper love.

This image offers glimpses of the “shadow entity” doing funky things like watering a cactus instead of a wilting rose, painting itself white, and walking on eggshells.

It’s a playful reminder to explore our shadow side and hold our whole self in love and light.

I Think About You

I Think About You

Colliding with inspiration takes up significant space in our daily lives. Our focus on a person, project or an idea moves through phases of hot passion and chilling indifference, transforming every single day. Within each cycle, we get to observe our worth, our vanity and our unity. In this image, the words on the background portray our thinking. The melting pops speak to our emotional blending with our "lover".

All Happenings Are In The Mind

All Happenings Are In The Mind
